**Role Purpose**: As the highest-level HR Subject Matter Expert (SME) in our company, your role will be instrumental in shaping our people management strategy, supporting the Board and CEO in driving innovation and development. You will provide expert advice, coach senior management, and ensure compliance with laws and best practices. Additionally, you'll lead improvement reviews, handle complex employment issues, and be responsible for the relationship with our unions, especially during pay negotiations.

**About the Role**: As the Head of HR, you will bring your significant experience at the Board level within commercial practice to liaise with the CEO, Board, Directors, and senior managers. You will express new ideas, suggest solutions, and embed our company values and culture while considering commercial opportunities and budget limitations. Collaborating with divisional HR Business Partners (HRBP) and teams, you will focus on business objectives and value creation. The role will improve people management strategy and develop the HR function through projects and improvements, actively promoting our corporate and business aims.

**What You'll Be Doing**:

- Deliver strategic advice and support to the CEO, Board, and across the business.
- Act as a senior advisor to the CEO and Board, leveraging your extensive commercial experience.
- Strategically influence the people agenda, considering commercial impact, risks, and improved business performance.
- Develop, manage, and implement a commercially focused, legally compliant, and innovative people plan.
- Provide expert guidance to stakeholders on opportunities, risks, and the impact of decisions on people and the business.
- Ensure HR processes are efficient, comply with regulations, and align with accepted professional standards.
- Collaborate with HR resources within the business, acting as a consultant on HR management, services, and organizational change.
- Collect and analyse HR performance indicators, compile reports, and present them to the Board.
- Partner with senior managers to develop workforce and succession plans, identifying high-potential individuals.
- Coach, mentor, and support senior colleagues to develop effective relationships and encourage retention.
- Undertake and support specific HR projects, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery.
- Champion equality, diversity, and inclusion principles and practice within the organization.
- Lead recruitment efforts and oversee employee engagement surveys.
- Co-ordinate remuneration policies and advise senior management on staff salaries.

- Exceptional leadership qualities.
- Confidence to provide sound professional advice to the Board of Directors.

- Problem-solving skills and operational/strategic expertise.
- Commercial acumen and overall understanding of company finances.
- Matrix management experience.
- Strong knowledge of HR capabilities, employment law, and HR policy.
- Proven ability to add value through HR innovation and best practices.
- Demonstrable experience in leading HR functions in commercial settings.
- Analytical skills to identify trends and translate data into a commercially focused HR and people strategy.
- Level 7 CIPD qualification.
- Minimum 7 years' experience in a leadership HR role.
