Our client is backed by some exceptional venture capital investment, allowing them to advance to the next step of development and are looking to hire a
**Bioinformatician** who has experience creating pipelines used for microbiome data analysis.
**You will be responsible for**:

We have been instructed to engage with talented people who meet the below criteria early as this is an urgent hire for the business.
- Creating pipelines to analyse microbiome datasets.
- Championing plant-microbe interactions studies.
- Python and R programming contributions.
- Supporting the Bioinformatics and Data Science teams in their probiotic development work.
- Microbiome engineering - IBD and pathogen predictions.
- Adapting to the ever-changing startup initiatives and supporting wider business units.
**You will bring the following**:
- PhD in a relevant scientific field (or equivalent experience) ideally with 1-2 years of post-doc/industry experience.
- Experience creating pipelines to analyse microbiome data (profiling and/or metagenomics), **including taxonomic classification**.
- Experience with Python and/or R programming.
- Experience with 3rd generation sequencing (Nanopore or PacBio)
- Experience with probiotic development work and/or microbiome engineering.
- **Desirable** - Experience in the area of plat-microbe interactions.
- **Desirable** - Experience with cloud computing and/or front-end development.
