FirstBus is looking for an Environment Manager to help us as we transition into a greener future.

The role of Environmental Manager is a new position within FirstBus. It will be instrumental in helping us to deliver on each of our ESG related goals and commitments across all of ouroperations, through monitoring and reportingperformance and identifyingtrends and areas of opportunity and improvement.

As ourEnvironment Manager, you will be supporting the Head of Environment in the development and management of an environmentalreporting framework for all ESG related data, for a range of internal and external stakeholderrequirements.

This is a remote role, however you will be required to be quite flexible withtravel when necessary.

**What will you be doing?**
- Creating and maintaining the environmentaldata set and collection plan. Establishing a robust datamanagement process to ensure timely and accurate reporting of all relevant ESG related environment and sustainabilityperformance, in line withourobjectivesand targets
- Creating analytics so that we better understandourenvironmental impacts and can manage them more effectively, in addition to leading the annual third party datavalidation of the environmentaldata set.
- Producing periodicenvironmental and sustainabilityperformance reports for Governance requirements, highlighting progress against our various objectives/targets and in response to stakeholder and investor requirements
- Managing FirstBus' submissions to First Group for corporate reporting, future indices and benchmarking requirements, and new and futureregulations
- Supporting Business Partners and respective Operating Companies, to ensure the effective management of local environmental impacts and aspects,
- Reporting of environmental and sustainabilityperformance, whilst identifying, validating and implementing new opportunities for improved performance, efficiency and profitability.
- Assisting with the management of the DivisionalEnvironmentalManagement System, including keeping environmental policies and procedures relevant and up to date
- Improving the customer experience through workingwith colleagues across the business to develop standard systems and procedures to help embed a culture of sharing best practice and continuousimprovement.
- Forming and maintaining effective communications and reportingarrangementswith internal and external stakeholders

**What are we looking for?**
- Educated to relevant degree level (or equivalentprofessional experience).
- Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g. IEMA) and working towards Professional Membership (e.g. Chartered Environmantalist) is desirable.
- Experience of working in environmentalmanagement and sustainability, corporate reporting and/or business assurance, ESG investment analysis and/or datamanagement, either in house or at an agency/consultancy.
- You'll be confidentwithdataanalysis methods, with a good eye for detail. Comfortableworkingwith large quantities of data and associated IT software and capable of translating and reportingdata into meaningful and actionableinformation.
- A good understanding of sustainability/ESG reporting, benchmarking and assurance standards.
- Keen understanding of how data is used to identifyopportunities for improvement, to support business cases and drive change.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Self-starter, with the ability to work independently managing projects within a fast-paced team and to tight deadlines
- Commercial awareness and a keen understanding of the impact of long term environmental risks and opportunities.
- Experience of the transport sector (or similar), its sustainabilitychallenges and opportunities is desirable.
