Ayrshire, United Kingdom NHS Scotland Full time

The Department of Trauma & Orthopaedic Surgery in NHS Ayrshire & Arran are seeking to appoint enthusiastic individuals to assist in delivery of undergraduate and postgraduate teaching within University Hospitals Crosshouse & Ayr. The expected start date for this post is 7th August 2024.

This posts will be suited to trainees who have satisfactorily completed foundation training or can demonstrate equivalent competencies, and wish to develop skills in medical education or clinical research. Alternatively the post would suit ST3 trainees and above who wish to seek out of programme experience (who should contact their Deanery at the earliest juncture).

A regular out of hour’s commitment to trauma on-call is associated with this post, attracting a banding payment of band 1B (40%). It is not expected that on-call will interfere with day time teaching, clinical or research activities.

The successful applicant would be teaching at both Ayr and Crosshouse Hospitals and will need to travel between sites. For this reason, possession of a UK driving licence with access to a car is an essential criteria for this post.

If you do not meet the essential criteria which is full GMC Registration with a licence to practice and 12 months paid NHS experience, then you will not be shortlisted for this post.

Please note that this post is not an educationally approved post by the Deanery.
