Cover Supervisor - Grade 6 - 32.5 Hours p/w - Term time only.

We are seeking to appoint a Cover Supervisor to support the provision of a high quality education for our learners. The role will entail working across a range of faculty areas, supporting teams to cover absent colleagues and maintain continuity of learning.

**Post Title**:Cover Supervisor - Grade 6- 32.5hrs pw (term time)

**Responsible to**:Data/SIMS and Cover Manager

**DBS Required Level**:Enhanced

**SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES**

To provide cover for teachers who are absent or to cover their PPA time.

**DUTIES**

**A.** **Cover**

1. Supervise classes of classroom teachers for up to five days;
2. Manage student behaviour and deal promptly with conflict and incidents in line with school policy;
3. Ensure students follow pre-set work programme;
4. Ensure class register is taken;
5. To return completed work to the Leader of Learning/ Deputy Leader of

Learning Progress Leader/ Teacher;
6. To cover the Isolation Room when not used for cover.

7. Use ICT effectively to support learning

**B. Classroom Organisation**

1. Be responsible for classroom displays as directed by the Leader of
Learning/ Deputy Leader of Learning Progress Leader/ Teacher;
2. Complete clerical duties as directed by the Leader of Learning/ Deputy

**C.** **Learning Support**

1. To work with students with learning/behavioural difficulties in a one to one/small group situation as directed by the Leader of Learning/ Deputy
Leader of Learning Progress Leader/ Teacher;
**D.** **General**

1. Undertake examination/test invigilation, if required;
2. Assist with break time supervision re: Equipment checks;
3. Accompany staff on off-site activities, if required;
4. Attend Faculty/Department meetings, if required;
5. Observe school’s Health and Safety regulations;
6. Uphold the school’s ethos;
7. To be a form tutor.

**School’s Health & Safety Responsibilities document.**

**EXPERIENCE**

Experience of working with children of relevant age in a learning environment

**QUALIFICATIONS/TRAINING**

Meet Higher Level Teaching Assistant standards or equivalent qualification or experience ( or working towards an appropriate qualification)

Excellent numeracy / literacy skills - equivalent to NVQ Level
2 in English and Maths

**KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS**

Can use ICT effectively to support learning

Good understanding of child development and learning processes

Ability to organise, lead and motivate a team

Constantly improve own practice/knowledge through self evaluation and learning from others

Ability to relate well to children and adults

Work constructively as part of a team, understanding classroom roles and responsibilities and your own position within these

**Job Type**: Permanent

**Salary**: From £18,477.00 per year
