**Location**_**:_ _Penwortham, Preston_

**Job Type**_**:_ _Permanent, Full time - Min 30 hours. Usually 1 shift followed by 2 days off. Every second shift to be followed by a sleep. (Pattern may change when required) On a rolling rota. (Average 37.5 hours per week)_

**Salary**: _starting at £10.00 per hour (dependant on experience and qualifications)_

We are looking to recruit a Residential Support Worker to join our brand new team working in Penwortham, Preston.

**Job Summary**

Through a caring and nurturing approach, you will build positive relationships and support our children and young people by providing a high quality of person-centred care which meets their individual needs whilst actively safeguarding and promoting their welfare.

You will support the Registered Manager and the team to ensure that the home promotes and maintains a healthy and safe environment for all young people and staff in accordance with our company values, policies and procedures, and Ofsted regulations.

**Key Requirements**:

- An understanding of the needs and challenges of children and young people in residential care
- A desire to work with young people who may display challenging behaviour
- Effective communication skills and ability to communicate and engage well with children and young people
- Ability to demonstrate excellent writing, recording, and reporting skills in line with company and statutory requirements
- Ability to form professional and positive relationships with children and young people, colleagues and other professionals and agencies
- To provide a high level of consistent care and support to the young people in our care
- Maintain high standards of hygiene within the home and complete housekeeping tasks
- Availability to undertake shift work on a rolling rota system including weekends
- Ability to work as part of a team

**Experience**:

- Residential Childcare: 1 year (_Preferred_)

**Licence/Certification**:

- Full UK Driving Licence (_Essential_)
- NVQ L3 Residential Childcare/Social Care (_Desirable_)
