We are seeking a Shunter to assist the Warehouse Manager in ensuring that the department runs smoothly.

At Bidfood Penrith, we recognise that the quality of our Warehouse/Transport team is instrumental to our success. You will be responsible for the timely and efficient movement of vehicles within the depot.

You will ensure that the correct vehicles are presented in the correct bays for loading, returning loaded vehicles to their station and ensuring that vehicle temperature equipment is plugged in and working. You will also check vehicle temperatures at regular intervals to ensure that they are within acceptable limits.

You will be responsible for moving vehicles and loading them with care and avoiding undue wear and tear, reporting any vehicle damage. You will be responsible for liaising with the Warehouse Operatives and Supervisors in order to ensure effective communication and an effective shift.

To be successful in this role you will have similar experience of working within a transport department, particularly within the fast-moving food distribution industry. You will be someone with good communication and organisation skills. You will need to be CPC trained and have an excellence accident free driving record, with the ability to work well under pressure.
