Are you a practical and hands-on learner with an eye for problem solving? Do you like the idea of learning how things work? Do you want to work with new and existing equipment? If you answered ‘yes’ to any of these questions, our Level 3 Mechatronics apprenticeship could be the ideal apprenticeship scheme for you

We are looking for 10 talented apprentices to join our team at our Peterborough facility; 5 to join our Maintenance team, 4 to join our Research and Development team, and 1 to join our Quality team. This 4-year advanced apprenticeship scheme will enable you to grow and develop your capabilities. From day one you will be embedded in a team solving real world problems and through combining college-based learning with on-the-job training you’ll learn the latest skills and knowledge from our technical experts.

Maintenance: Our maintenance team members are critical to our business’ success as they possess the technical skills and know-how to maintain our production equipment and facilities. Maintenance apprentices will use computerised systems to aid the completion of routine maintenance, diagnose equipment faults and carry out repairs in a timely manner.

Research & Development: Our Peterborough facility is home to the Caterpillar Europe Research & Development Centre, a state-of-the-art facility that positions technical specialists where they are needed most to identify, build and perfect the technologies and solutions to help our customers be successful. Apprentices will build, rig, and test new technologies that have yet to be mass-produced.

Quality: At the Peterborough facility, our Quality teams have varied responsibilities. With this apprenticeship in mind, the apprentice will join our Quality team that is responsible for investigating, analysing, and identifying defects before our engines leave our facility and head to our customers. A role critical to our success.

All apprentices will complete the Level 3 Engineering Technician apprenticeship and follow the Mechatronics pathway.

**What we need from you: “Knowledge and competencies”**

OR completed one year full-time further education and achieved Performing Engineering Operations, Level 2 (6 units) or an equivalent qualification.
- A-Levels: Not required.

On successful completion of this apprenticeship you are very likely to be offered a position within our world-class team with plenty of opportunity for long-term progression. Many of our former apprentices now occupy senior management roles within our organisation as career development is the foundation to all our apprenticeship schemes. Depending on the needs of the business, you may also be offered the chance to complete additional qualifications, such as a degree in Engineering.
