**Job summary**:
Navy Infrastructure is based at Navy Command Head Quarters (NCHQ) in Portsmouth, with offices at HMNB Devonport. Other locations will be considered, and wherever you are based, flexible and remote working is encouraged. This role may require travel to Navy sites in the UK, including regular visits to NCHQ.

The Navy Command Infrastructure team is passionate about improving the experience of the military, civil service and industry partner staff who live, work, train and operate from the estate. We do this by providing the advice required to make quick decisions and then driving through to pacey delivery. This requires a collaborative approach with colleagues elsewhere in the HQ, at Navy establishments, in the Defence Infrastructure Organisation, and from our industry partners. And a Continuous Improvement attitude too.

We are looking to recruit a Project Support Officer (PSO) to join the team and play a key role in supporting the management and prioritisation of infrastructure resources across the Naval Bases, Oil Fuel Depots, Training, Naval Air Stations, Royal Marine, and Reserve estate, whilst ensuring that regulatory compliance is maintained. The PSO will work closely with the Infrastructure Portfolio Management Office (IPMO) and support the HQ Delivery Team in developing a prioritised, risk-based plan for Navy Infrastructure (new build, sustain, and maintain).

This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.

**Job description**:
This role has the following deliverables:
Managing the Major Projects and Programmes (MPP) Infra portfolio and projects utilising Project Online (POL) and produce Management Information (MI) in relation to the progress of all MPP to support the Infrastructure Portfolio Management Office IPMO Performance team.

Working with the IPMO Senior Desk Officer/Desk Officer (SDO/DO) to identify and develop continuous improvement opportunities to improve all aspects of project delivery.

Overseeing the introduction of new policies and procedures in relation to delivery of Infrastructure projects and the impact of them upon the HQ Infrastructure Delivery and Asset Manager (IDAM) delivery team.

Providing support to Category A Infrastructure projects/programmes including, assisting in the development of supporting documents for Business Case Submissions in accordance with the Navy Command (and where necessary wider Defence) processes, procedures, and templates.

Providing support to all MPP project initiation/start up to ensure documents are produced, authorised, and stored in accordance with Navy Command (NC) Policy.

Reviewing and managing Senior Responsible Owner (SRO) documents aligned to all MPP project/programmes.

Supporting the Infrastructure Lines of Development (ILOD) within Equipment Plan (EP) Programmes as they become defined, preparing data and guidance for programme boards.

Leading on the audit of all data held in support of the MPP Portfolio.

Providing support to the HQ Delivery team in conjunction with Defence Estates Optimising Programme (DEOP) and Royal Marines Estate Consolidation (RMEC).
