**Post Overview**

Employed on a casual basis based at our School in Harborne, we are looking to appoint a School Minibus Driver to transport pupils between a designated location and school in the mornings.

Applicants must hold a full clean UK D1 driving license and have at least 1 years’ D1 driving experience. The post also calls for a good geographical knowledge of the area to enable the post holder to find alternative routes, as necessary.

**Key Purpose**:

- To safely transport pupils to school ensuring they arrive in time for the commencement of the school day.
- Act as an ambassador for the school, ensuring at all times that you promote and act in accordance with the school’s values and ethos.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Transport pupils from a designated place to school in school minibus
- Ensure minibus has sufficient fuel for the required journeys
- Inspect minibus before and after the school run
- Ensure minibus is kept clean and tidy
- Ensure pupils behave in an appropriate and safe manner during transport
- Report pupil conduct to relevant staff as appropriate
- Maintain accurate records of the children using the service each day
- Work within health and safety guidelines and other guidelines that may be issued from time-to-time
- Plan alternative road routes to and from school when necessary and keeping parents informed of any changes

**Required skills and experience**
- Clean PCV driving licence, with a valid D1 category
- MiDAS qualification, or willingness to undertake
- Paediatric First Aid qualification, or willingness to undertake
- Previous driving experience - ideally in passenger transport
- Enhanced DBS certificate or willingness to undergo a new DBS check
- Be prepared to undertake safeguarding training
- Be prepared to undergo additional training as required.

- Clear communication skills, both oral and written.
