**The Role**:
**The role will start on a fixed night shift for an undisclosed amount of time but will ultimately be a 3 shift rotation role therefore the role holder must be prepared to agree to 3 shift rotation**

At KP Snacks, we are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our Manufacturing & Production department as a Team Captain. As a Team Captain, you will play a crucial role in leading and supervising a team of production workers to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of our manufacturing processes.

**Responsibilities**:

- Team Captains coordinate the daily routines of their team of Operators within the line structure.
- Their valuable work leads to the site achieving operational excellence goals and the site vision.
- Being a Team Captain is an additional responsibility. Team Captains are identified because of the positive way they work with people which make them the go to person on a shift for advice and support.
- Team Captains spend around 20% of their time supporting the shift, the rest of the time they will be working as a Team Member or Equipment Owner.
- Lead and motivate a team of production workers to achieve daily production targets
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations
- Coordinate the Operators within the line structure including personnel planning, shift allocation, annual leave as delegated by the Line Lead
- Deal with unplanned absences which occur on the shift, obtaining cover for the shift to operate safely and to meet the production plan
- Coordinate the members of the team regarding idle time, CILs (Clean, Inspect and Lubricate) and change over
- Leads the Shift DDS shift handover according to the standard. Initiates appropriate actions to fix issues directly during the shift and escalates to the line structure if necessary.
- Participates in line DDS (morning & afternoon shifts) and escalates to Line Lead, Process Lead or Maintenance Lead any out of the ordinary aspects or more complex matters

**Work safety, hygiene and compliance**
- Ensure the compliance with the production specifications within the shift.
- On the shop floor coaching and guidance to Operators on all RTT DMS’s (Run to Target Daily Management Systems), with a special focus on the CLs (Centerlines), CILs (Clean Inspect Lubricate), finding and fixing defects, RCO (Rapid Change Over) and FPQ (Finished Product Quality).
- Initiate and support urgent maintenance requests - accessing appropriate site/external resources as appropriate
- Coaches team on problem solving by using Initial Problem Solving (IPS) tool
- Is the contact on the shift to escalate any safety, quality or people issues to the Line Lead or if there is a manager on duty / contact the on call manager if not on site
- Is the point person on shift for any emergencies
- Participate in the planning, organisation, execution and control of actions to improve work safety and hygiene with the occupational health, safety and the hygiene specialist of the plant as delegated by the Line Lead
- Participation in the execution and implementation of actions for preparation for certifications such as IFS and ISO.
- Monitor and maintain quality control standards
- Identify and resolve any production issues or bottlenecks
- Train and develop team members to enhance their skills and performance
