**What we expect you to do**:

- You will need to establish a stand-alone credit control function within the business, you will be required to:

- Review and revise the existing credit control processes to ensure the maximum cash collection for the business
- Manage the recovery of aged debt, which may involve account reconciliation, invoice query resolution, liaising with internal departments and negotiating re-payment plans where appropriate.
- Review and introduce processes that control credit risks to the business
- Work autonomously to ensure the timely collection of all debts
- Build and maintain strong relationships with our network of customers across the UK through
- Effective communication skills both written and verbal.

**Leading**:

- This role will have management responsibility, with the day to day management of 4 credit controllers.
- Establish a monthly timetable to cover all collections from the customer base with deadlines for statements, reminder letters and a full and clear on-stop process.
- Conduct monthly one to ones and weekly team meetings to support team members & provide training to ensure excellent customer service is delivered at all times.
- Prepare an informative & useful departmental monthly report by the set deadline for management meetings.
- Represent your department in internal and external meetings, showing an understanding of the needs of the customer, your department and the business as a whole.
- Monitor the success of the department, through departmental KPI’s, work with your team to ensure that they deliver outstanding customer service, improve team performance, and use them to implement strategies to improve the effectiveness of the team performance.

**You will have**:
Been a key player in effective team

Achieved GCSE Grade C in Math’s, English & IT

**You may also have**:
AAT Level 3 or above or be working towards this qualification

Experience working in the waste industry

**Details**:
You will report to the Financial Controller

You will be based in Newark, Nottinghamshire at our Head Office location

Due to the level of the role you will be required to work in the office a minimum of 3 days per week. During initial probationary period, you will be required in the office full time.
