**Description**
As the Assistant Accountant you will be responsible for:
The production of financial accounts for 2 entities ensuring that appropriate processes and controls are in place to facilitate accurate and timely record keeping, reporting and compliance.
- Review and submit monthly accounts
- Review balance sheet reconciliations for all accounts
- Prepare annual accounts together with a year end audit file containing all relevant supporting documentation
- Day to day management and liaison with outsourced finance service provider to ensure timely processing of accounting transactions, payment of local supplier invoices and submission of relevant returns to the authorities
Financial accounting and compliance includes assisting the Financial Controller with:
- Filing and record keeping in line with Company Secretarial requirements, including when applicable, new country set up
- Attendance of ISO audit meetings with the Financial Accountant and ensure the Finance department maintain the appropriate level of focus on delivering ISO compliance including timely revision of procedures by each section
- Facilitating compliance with the requirements of Legal Manager through liaison with 1st line management and NWE Legal department
To ensure that financial accounting for entities is delivered accurately and in a timely manner by:
- Ensuring compliance with, and maintenance of, suitable accounting and processing policies, procedures and controls in accordance with local and international requirements and KPI policies
- Managing the close co-operation and key relationships with Finance and other departments
- Liaise with outsourced service providers
- Liaison with auditors [internal/external], tax, pension and other advisors on control and compliance matters including VAT and income tax issues, policies and procedures
**Profile**
- Experience in a similar role desirable but not essential
- Studying for an Accountancy Qualification or Qualified by experience
- Experience of SAP system is desirable but not essential
- Good Excel skills
- Strong Communication Skills
- Strong Attention to detail
**Job Offer**
Assistant Accountant
Salary £30,000 - £35,000
Hours 9am - 5:15pm
Bonus Scheme previously paid out 7-9%
Study Support if Required but not essential
Strong Pension Employee 5% and Employer 10%
