The last couple of years has seen Linaker grow exponentially and the Finance team have been instrumental in this growth. With big plans for 2024 we’re now looking for an exceptional Credit Controller to join this stellar team and help drive the business forward.

**ABOUT THE ROLE**

As Credit Controller, you will ensure that the ledgers are kept to an optimised level with all debt collected within stated terms and ensuring the company’s exposure to bad debts is kept to a minimum, while maintaining and pursuing good relationships between external customers and internal stakeholders.

**WHAT YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR**
- Daily posting of cash and reconciliation of Sales Ledger to bank records
- Resolution of all queries arising during the collection process
- Updating and maintaining customer query logs
- Producing weekly reports of debt position analysed by Area/Manager.
- Producing a Summary of debts outstanding due to operational queries for Monthly KPI performance figures.
- Weekly internal meetings with Managers to discuss the debt position relevant to their area & agree next steps.
- Summarising and circulating the agreed next steps/list of actions following the weekly debt meetings.
- Setting client limits and credit checks for new and current customers
- Data cleanse ledgers prior to each month end for unallocated cash etc in preparation for sending out the client statements.
- Prepare and send out the monthly statements, including the extensive use of Excel and Vlookup functionality for larger client accounts.
- Escalating specific debts in accordance with the collection processes as outlined in the Credit policy.
- Sales invoice checking, ensure correct VAT has been applied, invoices raised as at the correct date in spreadsheet format from our Job system, prior to batch posting to our accounting system.
- Carry out any other occasional ad hoc duties as required to fulfil departmental needs.

**KEY SKILLS**
- 5 years minimum proven experience in credit control or similar role
- Strong Accounts background
- In-depth familiarity with credit control processes and procedures, ensuring adherence to industry best practices.
- Exceptional numeracy skills
- Proficiency in intermediate Excel skills, leveraging spreadsheet functionalities for efficient data management and analysis.
- Attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills - verbal and written.
- Ability to manage own workload effectively and efficiently.

**THE PACKAGE**
- A competitive starting salary of £35,000-£40,000 dependent upon experience, with annual pay reviews.
