**Key Tasks**

- Control all aspects of the planning function in line with company standards and procedures
- Control & plan all movements ensuring maximum efficiency
- Complete all scheduled reports including Key Performance Indicators and Service Level Agreements within specified deadlines
- Act as the first point of contact for drivers, delivering great customer service and taking ownership of issues
- Ensure all routes are covered using core/agency staff, ensuring that all sickness and holiday absences are covered in order to meet service delivery
- Obtain extra transport/vehicle resource as required, planning in advance as far as possible to ensure sufficient supply
- Control all driver out-briefs/debriefs whilst on shift and ensure all issues from them are reported and actioned, including the returning of PODs from the day’s deliveries
- Prepare and plan any statistical analysis for the management team as and when required
- Adhere to and promote all company policies & procedures including health and safety
- To complete operational shift handover including awareness of status report/current deployment of drivers and escalating areas of non-compliance that may lead to service failures such as breakdowns, lates, and reported non-attendance of drivers for scheduling for next day/days activities
- Review movement requirements and make necessary arrangements for additional resources to meet any predicted shortfalls
- Make necessary arrangements for remedial/repair action to trailer or tractor units on return to depot, ensuring the fleet availability to meet operational requirements escalating any risks or non-availability to relevant management
- Immediate escalation of matters that impact on operations with timely liaison through communication with the relevant management
- Update all reports where appropriate, scanning & filing away the day’s paperwork in line with company procedures
- Preparing run sheets for drivers

**The Essentials**

Here’s what we need from you in order to join the team:

- Excellent geographical knowledge of the UK and road network
- CPC qualified (or willing to work towards)
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build effective working relationships
- Excellent attention to detail with an organised approach to work
- Ability to multi-task and prioritise deadlines
- A team player, willing to help colleagues when required

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: From £30,000.00 per year

- 12 hour shift
- Day shift
- Overtime
- Weekend availability
