Sheffield, United Kingdom University of Sheffield Full time

The University of Sheffield is committed to enabling mature students from non-traditional backgrounds to access and benefit from high quality academic programmes across the institution. Through the work of its Department for Lifelong Learning (DLL), the University offers an expanding range of degree programmes with foundation years into four Faculties, each programme being specially tailored to meet the needs of mature learners returning to study.

This open-ended post, a teaching specialist role on the University’s Academic Career Pathway, provides an exciting opportunity to join an academic team who place student-centred interdisciplinary and enquiry-based learning at the heart of their collaborative teaching philosophy.

We are actively seeking to increase the diversity of our departmental staff profile to better reflect the diversity of our student body. We particularly welcome applicants from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic backgrounds. All appointments will be based on merit.
The work commitment of 50% will be spread over at least two days. The working pattern is to be agreed, but will include Wednesdays, and may include some evening or weekend delivery.

We’re one of the best not-for-profit organisations to work for in the UK. The University’s Total Reward Package includes a competitive salary, a generous Pension Scheme and annual leave entitlement, as well as access to a range of learning and development courses to support your personal and professional development.

We build teams of people from different heritages and lifestyles from across the world, whose talent and contributions complement each other to greatest effect. We believe diversity in all its forms delivers greater impact through research, teaching and student experience.
