Head of Estates

**Reed Talent Solutions** are currently working with a Kent based NHS Trust to recruit a Head of Estates on an initial three-month contract. The post-holder will have professional and technical responsibility for managing Maintenance, Fire,Energy and Backlog Maintenance services on behalf of the Trust.

**Role Information**
- Initial 3-month contract with potential to extend
- Inside IR35
- PAYE daily rate: £226.43 - £268.96
- Umbrella daily rate: £286.68 - £341.51

**Key Responsibilities**
- Responsible for managerial / professional control of a range of operational services for the Department, including Estates Operation, Capital Projects Support, Backlog Maintenance, Grounds & Garden, Fire Safety
- Provide a first class Estates Service in collaboration with other Estates Department leads
- Lead the management of the Trust’s estate and the improvement of its physical environment
- Ensure that each service department have clear strategic/operational business objectives that are consistent with the Trust goals
- Research and interpret all aspects of estates work in healthcare so the service is in a position to offer sound quantitative and qualitative advice and guidance on the latest techniques and practices to facilitate significant service improvement
- Support the Estates Service in managing the Trust compliance with statutory requirements, and standards relating to health care and risk management
- Be responsible for condition surveys, inspections and risk assessments and ensuring the provision of training for all staff and stakeholders is provided as required by statute and NHS guidance
- Investigate and respond to complaints received from patients, visitors, staff and public, regarding the services and the environment
- Making direct contact with complainants as the situation demands via the Trust’s complaints department and prepare response documentation on behalf of the Assistant Director, Estates and Facilities

**Essential Criteria**
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services
- Corporate Professional Membership with learned body ( e.g. IHEEM, CIOB, RIBA, IEE, ImechE, CIBSE )
- Management qualification
- PRINCE 2/or equivalent
- Post graduate qualification to masters level or equivalent qualification or experience
