Torquay, United Kingdom Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust Full time

You will be responsible for managing outpatient clinics to support the management and monitoring of patients on abemaciclib. This is an oral treatment that patients can self-administer but requires close monitoring due to the toxicities and side effects. Follow up protocol is monthly for six months followed by bi-monthly until end of treatment (two years).

National data suggests that 70% of all breast cancer patients have hormone receptor-positive HER2-negative node-positive cancer with 30% at high risk of recurrence. Torbay and South Devon NHS Trust are anticipating 50 patients per year will be eligible for abemaciclib treatment.

To manage the minimum expected demand the post holder will provide circa 550 outpatient reviews per year (equivalent to 94 outpatient clinics). In addition to the patient facing activity, you will be required to collect clinical data and outcomes for all patients receiving abemaciclib to inform business planning and service developments needs to substantiate the service.
