**Job summary**:
Information Governance and Risk Management [IGRM] take the lead on information security and governance policies and procedures globally for the British Council. The team provide a second line of defence and are responsible for information risk management as well as related education and training for both information professionals and all staff globally. They lead on the global implementation of required frameworks and standards and for compliance in this area.

**Job description**:
Provides Freedom of Information, Environmental Information, Subject Access Request, and Transparency advice to stakeholders across the organisation.

Supports the Disclosure Manager in the effective management of the team’s caseload, the team’s records, and the production of reports on the team’s performance.

**Person specification**:
**Role specific knowledge and experience**
- Undergraduate degree or Practitioner certification in FOI and/or DPA.
- Recognised qualification in Privacy, Records Management, Cyber Security.
- Knowledge of and advisory level experience of FOI, EIR, and DPA.
- Experience of managing an information request caseload.
- Experience of creating effective networks of stakeholders with strong reputation and credibility in the IGRM area.
- Knowledge of and advisory level experience of records management, data protection, information security, GDPR, and information assurance.
