Venture Recruitment Partners are working with a globally operating financial services business based in Whiteley in their recruitment for a Trainee Accountant.

Responsibilities of the successful Trainee Accountant:

- Complete all aspects of the accounting of corporate entities and trusts including bookkeeping, interim and annual accounts preparation and ad hoc reporting and liaise with clients as necessary
- Work with the team to deliver daily cash monitoring and reconciliation obligations for a portfolio of clients through the use of a checklist suite.
- With the support of your team, collate documentation from internal and external sources that supports their clients’ fund investment activity.
- Provide support in verifying the ownership of the assets of a fund.
- Support process design, development and improvement activities.
- Maintain accurate fund accounting and client records on relevant software and fund documentation records on the system.
- Assist with some aspects of company secretarial matters including the preparation of filings for companies house and other regulatory bodies
- Assist with the maintenance and monitoring of routine information requests and queries through correspondence with the client and/or other teams.
- Recent university graduate with a strong academic background, or equivalent accountancy qualification.
- Financial services knowledge or experience of working in Accounting is desirable, but not essential.
- A desire to study towards a relevant professional qualification (ACCA/ACA), is essential
- An eye for detail, with strong organisational and communication skills, the ability to work to fixed deadlines and a good degree of initiative.
- A willingness to read and interpret domestic and EU regulations and legislation, primarily related to Alternative Investment Funds.
- Computer literacy skills are essential.
