The post holder will have a core element to their role in either case management, Arrest Referral/courts or Prison Link. All post holders will need to be able to undertake comprehensive assessment, Care Planning and case management of service users. (full training will be provided) and will bring a psychology led set of skills to this work. Where required, they will contribute to the Arrest Referral rota in the police custody suites, court work and link with prisons for community transition. They will manage and report on offenders who have statutory orders made by the court for treatment of substance misuse, under the DRR, RAR and ATR requirements.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Engage with identified participants referred to the service through the Criminal Justice System, including the provision of drug and alcohol Arrest Referral cover at Police stations, attendance for court duties and prison visits.
- Carry out detailed personal and risk assessments against criteria including Required Assessments and DRR/ATR statutory case assessments (using AUDIT) including psychological assessments (support / training provided), and to develop an agreed recovery Care-Plan for all participants’ substance misuse and associated issues.
- Support service users by promoting recovery through the provision of one to one and group work programmes, outreach intervention and three way meetings. To undertake activities to engage, motivate and retain/re-engage service users to reduce levels of offending and substance use.
- Conduct (with training) clinical assessment of mental health with men and women over 18 to help support decision making and treatment planning.
- Plan, develop and deliver structured interventions around common mental health concerns.
- Engage in line management supervision and supervision with Chartered Forensic and Clinical Psychologists and Forensic Psychologists in training affiliated with FPC.
- To provide reports to assist the court and attend court as required.
- To notify National Probation Service Offender Managers of attendance and non-compliance promptly for statutory service users as required.
- To work with the Services Healthcare team to assess suitability for prescribing services, working concurrently with the team to reduce drug related deaths by promoting safe injecting, overdose prevention and the risk of blood borne diseases.
- To undertake required drug tests and dry blood spot testing for blood borne viruses (training provided).
- During all contacts with participants, consider relevance to the Hidden Harm Agenda and any issues that may affect young people.
- Support participants during the transitional stage to Tier 1, 3 or 4 services and into/out of the Criminal Justice System.
- Support access to Accommodation, ETE, Healthcare, Financial and Family/Relationship support services as necessary.
- Ensure that all data records are completed, submitted and distributed in accordance with policies utilising data and case management systems.
- To promote the Service to service users, partner agencies and referral agencies through representation, attendance and participation in any meetings required.
- Sustain required qualifications (which may include enhanced training) that enable continuous eligibility for the tasks within this job specification.
