**JOB PURPOSE**
- Assist the Coordinator to provide daily direction and support to the team.
- Assist in training the team to the required standard with regular reviews
- Actively promote a safety culture within the department and ensure that all health and safety requirements are met
- Cover the coordinator in their absence
- Assist the coordinator to ensure the team adhere to the relevant food safety and H&S practices
- Complete all relevant documented checks required by the department/Site
- Complete periodic cleans in line with departmental schedules
- Ensure that daily hygiene and housekeeping standards are met and all relevant documentation is completed when required
- Ensure production equipment is cleaned effectively and returned promptly to avoid any interruption to production
- Ensure all company procedures and rules are adhered to and issues raised to your coordinator/Manager
- To maintain a positive working relationship with your team members, Coordinator, Hygiene Manager and internal / external customers.
- To ensure effective utilisation of labour when covering /assisting to complete scheduled work and prioritise any missed tasks
- To carry out ad hoc projects required by your coordinator/Hygiene manager.

**KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Provide direction and support in conjunction with the coordinator to the team members.
- Staff performance
- Training needs identified, training plan confirmed with Manager and implemented
- Assist with the teams annual performance review completion (PDR / EDR)
- Actively promote a safety culture within the department and ensure that all health and safety requirements are met
- Complete accident investigations comprehensively completed in a timely manner
- Attend departmental and site safety meetings in the absence of the coordinator
- Risk Assessments - completed / written
- Fire evacuation co-ordination
- Isolation procedures enforced
- Take full ownership for the day to day running of the department in the coordinators absence
- Efficient shift operation to ensure completion of daily/weekly/ monthly/annual hygiene tasks
- To ensure production equipment is cleaned and returned promptly (efficient tub wash and basket wash operation)
- Visitor/Audit preparation
- Writing and updating hygiene schedules and systems (daily, deep clean)/ offset issues (missed cleans)
- Staff allocation where required
- Escalation of issues to coordinator/Hygiene Manager and actively look to implement solutions
- Monitor and control departmental variances to achieve agreed results
- Team briefings
- To ensure effective utilisation of labour (actual v planned)
- Overtime - planned and budgets adhered to
- Monitor the issue of stock - control and record, consumables, cleaning, equipment, PPE etc.
- Ensure the hygiene and chemical store areas are maintained in a clean and tidy state
- Complete daily/weekly/monthly/annual hygiene plans for the department and ensure they are followed
- All documents are signed and filled in correctly
- Where the document requires a Coordinator check and signature these are completed promptly and within the shift worked
