Hepatology Assistant Practitoner

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Trust as a Band 4 Hepatology Assistant Practitioner on a Fixed Term contract for one year. This post would suit an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual who is keen to learn new skills and provide holistic support/management to our local patients with liver disease.

The post holder will drive identification of patients with viral hepatitis, and other aetiologies of liver disease, and support patient pathways through quick access to FibroScans, liver assessment, and management. This role will be based between our two sites at Hillingdon and Mount Vernon Hospital. There may be a requirement for community working in the future.

The Hepatology Department comprises one Consultant Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist and two Hepatology Clinical Nurse Specialists. The service has developed over the last five years, with a caseload of over 2000 patients with chronic liver disease and over 4000 outpatient contacts per year. The development of the service has contributed to admission avoidance, early supported discharge, and improved patient outcomes.
