**The Role**:
Reporting into and working alongside our Design Manager, you will lead a small team, design and develop Knitwear and support the Junior Designer (category tbc) at every stage of the product life cycle.

**Responsibilities**:

- Leading and managing the development of Knitwear and Jersey collection from concept through to sealed samples in accordance with critical path maintaining all timelines by drop.
- Researching trends by story; product category; colour, materials.
- Supporting and working alongside the Design Manager to help create cohesive ranges and outfitting.
- Working effectively to critical path deadlines.
- Working closely with Buying team to deliver a cohesive range in line with the target prices, quality and delivery objectives set out in the range plan.
- Sourcing yarn / jersey and trims in line with quality standards and work closely with Technical team to ensure that fabric and trims meet business performance and aftercare standards. - Attending all fit meetings of first to sealed proto samples to ensure styles reflect expectations, quality, construction, correct fit and look.
- Analysing weekly sales and customer reviews to be discussed every week at the trade meeting.
- Attend relevant supplier visits with Buying team to record all developments put into work.
- Managing Junior and/or Assistant Designer, overseeing that all their tasks are completed correctly and efficiently.
- Working alongside the Design Manager to create mood-boards, colour palettes and vision of the season.
- Actioning wash techniques requests, embroidery artworks and print strike-offs.
- Set up initial tech packs in conjunction with the Assistant Designer and/or Junior Designer ensuring all information from the Technical team are added into each pack.

**The Person**:

- As well as trend awareness you will have strong commercial market knowledge.
- You will have at least 3-5 years’ experience in a Knitwear specific role and be confident using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
- You must have an excellent knowledge of garment construction, jersey construction and knit techniques as well as the ability to lead, manage and develop a small team of designers.
