Senior Cashier

The Trust is offering an exciting opportunity within the Cashiers Department. The successful applicant will be responsible for the Cashiers day-to-day operations by assisting patients and other services. The post holder must have excellent IT skills, and the ability to organise and prioritise their own work, cover for colleagues and communicate clearly.
- Reimbursement of patients travel expenses on the provision of the appropriate evidence
- Receives and banks income from the car parks, hospital canteens and various other sources
- Provide floats and change for Bayview
- Operate Night Safe based in Control Room
- Provide a mail order service for taking payments for Nursery Invoices, Lost Aids, Prescription Charges
- Provide a banking service for Charitable Trust Funds
- Provide Gas and electric accounts for residents in Hospital accommodation
- Receive, count and bank money from washers and dryers in hospital accommodation
- Monitor payments for Hospital Funerals
- Medical Electronic Invoicing
- The safe custody of valuables patients' property and cash
- Petty cash reimbursement to staff for some of the hospital wards

Cashiers office at Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust are a vital part of the hospital/community within the Finance and Planning department. The role includes providing financial support to the other services, including ensuring that the cash position is monitored and recorded daily. The role also includes the monthly reconciliation of balance sheet accounts, creation/maintenance of supplier accounts and cashiering/patient-related services in the hospital.
