**About this role**:
**Edinburgh is facing a significant moment for tackling financial hardship in the city. According to the Edinburgh Poverty Commission Report, A Just Capital, the city hosts 80,000 people living in poverty, a figure we anticipate will be growing as a result of the ongoing cost of living crisis. At Turn2us Edinburgh Trust we agree with the report that poverty must be ended.**

Turn2us Edinburgh Trust has made a commitment to invest in the ambitions of A Just Capital. We believe that we can help play a key role in achieving the ambitions set out in the A Just Capital report to eradicate poverty in Edinburgh within the next ten years.

As our work in Edinburgh is gaining momentum, we are looking for a powerful freelance communicator passionate about creating social change and challenging the perception of poverty in Edinburgh. You will help us communicate our vision while we are building permanent comms support into our team. We are looking for 1 day/week support (to be worked flexibly as suits you) for 6 months at a daily rate of £350.

**Main responsibilities include**:

- Supporting the development of PR and media and comms strategy for Edinburgh Trust (working with Turn2us Communications Team and Head of Edinburgh Trust) to advance narratives challenging poverty in the Edinburgh/Scottish media
- Supporting the development and delivery of digital comms strategy (working with Turn2us Communications Team and Head of Edinburgh Trust) to increase Edinburgh Trust's reach and engagement
- Communicating with members and stakeholders through our digital and social media channels
- Using digital and social media to promote awareness of our work
- Designing and delivering digital campaign
