Ships Warden - Contract

Portsmouth Dockyard

Purpose of Role:
To respond to requirements of the ship services team manager, due regard to be given at all times to the provision of a safe working environment and ensuring the H&S of others who may be affected by your actions.

Major activities & Tasks

1. To develop & maintain a broad Knowledge of electro/mechanical systems associated with RN ships so as to ensure safety of personnel & equipment.

2. Carry out as directed, electro/mechanical low level maintenance & equipment keep alive as required by contract specification.

3.To assist with implementing the H&S controls in ship's for which BAE has care & custody

Qualifications required:
1. You will have a minimum 3 years experience in a RN or relevant Marine engineering environment

2. Have High Voltage competency

3.Working knowledge of electrical safety & testing

This would suit someone fresh out of the Navy as would have system's knowledge or someone who has previously been a ships service technician/warden.

Responsible for "tagging out" systems when work is to be done
- electrical/pipe/mechanical systems.
