An exciting opportunity has arisen to work as a Fetal Monitoring and Wellbeing (CTG) Lead for 30 hours per week.

As Fetal Monitoring and Wellbeing (CTG) Lead you will take a lead role with the Labour Ward Obstetric Consultant in developing a robust programme of education and training in CTG interpretation and fetal wellbeing. Building on the current competency test to access the knowledge and skills of all staff providing intrapartum and antenatal care, in whatever setting provide professional leadership and direction across maternity services, ensuring the highest standards of clinical care.

Key to this role will be to provide an accessible and visible presence across maternity services. You will work with the Practice Education Development Team, to produce an “intelligent intermittent auscultation” training package and lead on the use of this in training midwives who provide intrapartum care on the Delivery Suites, the Midwifery Led Unit and in the woman’s home. Supported by experienced Birth Centre Co-ordinator and Ward teams, you will use every opportunity to facilitate teaching, learning and reflection within the clinical areas

We provide acute in-patient and out-patient care for Chesterfield and the surrounding rural area of North Derbyshire, serving a population of approximately 350,000 people.
