Consultant Anaesthetist

You will be joining a team of 44 Consultants and 10 SAS anaesthetists providing perioperative care and Chronic Pain management.

We have two major sites, one at Clatterbridge Hospital providing purely scheduled care, and also Chronic Pain management, and another at Arrowe Park Hospital which provides urgent and emergency care.

The Chronic Pain service at WUTH has been redeisgned and this is a great opportunity to be part of an innovative modern pain service,

The team will include Consultant in Chronic Pain, pharmacists, specialist Physiotherapists and Psychologists.

Our critical care unit has 18 level II and III beds, providing a full range of support for patients in the post-operative period.

We have 1 substantive 10.20 PA Consultant Anaesthesia and Chronic Pain management positions available.

**The key duties of the post are**:
Outpatient clinics

Interventional pain procedures

Liaison with the Acute Pain Team regarding inpatient Chronic Pain issues.

Attendance at the monthly MDT meeting ( currently Wednesday afternoon)

High quality anaesthetic care for a wide range of surgical specialties.

Active participation in risk management, at both departmental and Trust level

Active participation in departmental, Trust and national clinical audit

To engage with the Trust’s appraisal programme for medical staff.

Participation in the Anaesthesia oncall rota
