Overview / Responsibilities:
Wood is currently recruiting for a HSE Advisor with extensive experience in the oil and gas petrochemical industry on a fixed term contract until October 2025.

**Job Summary**:

- Onshore role moving to an offshore role during shutdown periods
- The HSSE Advisor is expected to provide support, advice and assurance on Health, Safety and Environmental matters to TAR Leaders, Supervision and the Workforce, enabling leaders to discharge legal obligations and to meet TAR HSSE Performance Objectives
- This is a proactive role with a high degree of vigilant and engagement in HSSE performance monitoring and systems maintenance with continual improvement. Visibly demonstrate Safety and Environmental Leadership skills on-site, including carrying out satisfactory HS&E interventions
- Reports to TAR HSE lead

**Main Tasks**:

- Provision of HS&E related information, advice, coaching and training of occupational HSE matters
- Assist with the detailed planning and execution of the HSSE Turnaround Plan
- Co-ordinate Audits
- Hazard management
- HS&E System’s monitoring, maintenance, review & development
- Incident investigation with Root Cause Analysis (RCA) facilitation

**Key Accountabilities/Deliverables**:

- Provide advice and support on HS & E matters to the TAR team and the wider workforce
- Provide HSSE coaching and advice to supervision and workforce
- Proactively and systematically monitor site activities to help ensure compliance with the Comops Campaign HSSE Strategy/Plan and HSSE policies, procedures and standards
- Champions awareness of Life Saving Rules and behavioural expectations
- Supports delivering of HSE tasks and deliverables as part of TAR planning
- Support risk assessments, COSHH assessments manual handling assessments etc
- Support actions and focus regarding implementation of the Campaign HSSE Strategy
- Support platform offshore team with regard to Hazard Management Programs - e.g. Dropped Objects, Slips, Trips & Falls, Lighting, Ergonomics, Manual Handling, Hand & Finger Protection and Leak & Spill Prevention
- Supports and works with the core HSE advisor regarding the implementation of the LOD1 Audit Programme
- Support Offshore Management in ensuring that audit recommendations relating to HS&E matters are acted upon and closed out appropriately
- Support Offshore Management in the investigation, reporting and analysis of incidents, ensuring all incidents are reported
- Support implementation of lessons learned:

- Support to dissemination of lessons learned from investigation and analysis
- Implementation of lessons from such Safety and Environmental Alerts
- Dissemination of HSE-related information from professional bodies, industry and Shell resources
- Track dissemination of alerts and engagement with teams
- Monitor progress and implementation of corrective actions arising from related Incident reports.
- Perform behavioural interventions and observations in accordance with Safe Working Essentials. Work with platform core Safety Coaches to monitor implementation of Behavioural Safety system, identify and report on trends and improvement needs
- Perform Proactive daily worksite inspections agreeing improvements and promoting safe working environment
- Attend Tool Box Talks to ensure good quality and workforce interaction
- Participate in the weekly offshore workforce HSSE meetings and TOFS
- Where required, support the platform induction process
- Undertake other HS&E functional appointments within their competence as identified by the OIM or Turnaround / HSE Manager
- Conduct verbal daily handover with night/day shift
- Compile a written end of trip handover report

Skills / Qualifications:
**Essential Skills/Qualifications**:

- NEBOSH or equivalent
- Significant experience in an equivalent or similar role in the oil and gas or other high hazard industry
- Involvement in the implementation, support and/or management of a Corporate Safety Culture program
- Human Factors and behaviours
- Good communication skills
- Knowledge and understanding of HSE tools, methods, practices and principles and experience with maintaining compliance with UK Legislation
- Relevant familiarization in training and coaching of personnel
- Training and experience in accident/incident investigations using a proven root cause analysis methodology
- Experience implementing and maintaining a behavioral based safety system
