Apprentice Butcher

We have an exciting opportunity to join our long-established team here at Fleming Butchers in Arbroath. working as part of a team to produce top quality products for our retail and wholesale customers. Flemings have been supplying the highest quality meats to the Angus area and beyond since 1925.

Over the years we have passed our knowledge onto many butchers, all who started as apprentices, providing them with a set of skills and ethos that they will have for life.

Due to the sustained growth we have seen over the last year we are now looking for 2 apprentice butchers to come and join us that will, once you have completed your training give you a much sought after skill set.

The training you receive will be accredited by Scottish Craft Butchers/Skills scotland, a nationally recognised training scheme. Typically this training lasts between 18 months and 2 years.

**Responsibilities**:

- Prepare and portion meat products according to customers requirements
- Learn to cut, trim, and bone meat using proper techniques and equipment
- Will be shown proper storage and handling of meat products to maintain freshness and quality.
- Provide high standard of service to the customers on the butchery counter.
- Will be shown how to maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the Butchery areas
