Job Title: Lettings Assistant (Casual - Evenings and/or weekend)

**Salary**: £12.71ph Weekday hours between 5.30pm to 10pm) (Weekend hours between 8.30 am to 9pm)

Directly Reporting to: Cluster Facilities Manager/Business Manager

Responsible for: None

**Overall Job Purpose**:
To be the first point of contact and ambassador for the school hirers and be responsible for the safety and smooth running of hirings during out of school hours. Supervise and assist in the planning of external hirers of the sports facilities on site in addition to other hireable areas within the main building, ensuring they proceed in accordance with the school lettings policy and protocols. To oversee the security of the school building whilst liaising with the onsite schools PFI premises staff as appropriately,

The role will require working outside of normal working hours with evening and weekend work an integral part of the role. Specific tasks may change from day to day, so flexibility and adaptability is of the utmost importance in this role. Delivering excellent customer service as well as excellent communication skills are also important parts of this role.

**Key responsibilities**:

- Have overall responsibility for the supervision of the school premises during lettings periods, ensuring that you are aware of the hirings/events.
- Liaise with the PFI contractor regarding lettings to ensure the school premises are opened and closed appropriately, the PFI contractor are the keyholder for the site.
- Meeting, greeting and dealing with any queries or requests from the hirers.
- Ensure that community users sign in and out appropriately and follow school lettings procedures at all times.
- Managing handover between the hirers.
- Maintain awareness to ensure no unauthorised access during hire periods.
- Carry out security checks during periods of community use, including the site perimeter and frequent patrols of the school grounds.
- Ensuring all facilities are left in a clean and tidy state after hire, as far as is possible.
- Ensure that the PFI contractor has moved furniture when required (e.g., for special events in the Theatre Space and Sports Hall) in accordance with the lettings activity sheet.
- Update the daily activity sheet, logging any changes, requests or concerns.
- Ensure any Health and Safety issues are reported to the Cluster Business Manager and/or Cluster Facilities Manage promptly.
- Act as a first aider on site for emergencies during lettings periods.
- Carry out duties in a polite, efficient and cheerful manner building relationships with regular community users of the school site.

**Child Protection**

To have due regard for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and to follow the child protection procedures adopted by ULT and the Academy’s safeguarding policy

**Performance Development
- To take part in the Academy’s staff development programme by participating in arrangements for further training and professional development
