**Location - Mere, Wiltshire**
**Salary - £22K-£25K DOE**
**Hours - Wednesday - Sunday 0730 - 1600**
**Overview**:
We are currently recruiting for a Sous Chef to join our clients team serving pub style food to the public from their on-site restaurant. This is an ideal opportunity for someone looking to get away from the normal anti-social long hours associated with thehospitality industry. The restaurant only opens from Wednesday - Sunday so you will have set days off every Monday & Tuesday.
**Role Purpose**:
The sous chef will be the second in command in the kitchen, following the Kitchen Manager’s specifications and guidelines. You will employ culinary and managerial skills to play a critical role in maintaining and enhancing our guest’s satisfaction.
**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Support the Kitchen Manager in the preparation and design of food menus
- Produce high quality dishes both design and taste wise
- Ensure that the kitchen operates in a timely way that meets our quality standards
- Fill in for the Kitchen Manager in planning and directing food preparation when necessary
- Resourcefully solve any issues that arise and seize control of any problematic situation
- Manage and train kitchen staff, establish working schedule and assess staff’s performance
- Order supplies to stock inventory appropriately
- Comply with and enforce health regulations and safety standards
- Maintain a positive and professional approach with colleagues and guests

**Skills and Attributes**:
**Essential**
- Relevant substantial experience as a Sous Chef in a busy kitchen
- Food Hygiene certified
- Understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures
- Excellent record of kitchen and team management
- Accuracy and speed in handling situations and providing solutions

**Desirable**
- Familiar with industry best practices
- Food/Culinary science related certificate
