This is a new role within Currys to support launching and stock management for new technologies and products with seasonal demand. This Assistant Category Merchandiser role sits with a newly created team and with a fast paced range refresh cycle. We require and individual who can work a level of autonomy and with good business acumen. Our Merchandising teams help our categories hit targets by building relationships with suppliers and monitoring performance. You’ll be at the heart of our success, helping our Category Merchandiser to deliver category performance. It’s an environment that’s packed full of opportunities, which means you can build the future you want. This is a 12 month Fixed Term Contract.

Key Responsibilities:

- Build close relationships with suppliers, stakeholders and our supply chain to ensure continuity of supply
- Step up and take responsibility for achieving all key performance indicators (sales, stock, margin and markdown)
- Review sales forecasts based on historical data, seasonal trends and market trends
- Monitor weekly performance and make recommendations to ensure that we implement in-season plans and deliver target availability across the store estate

Key Skills/Experience:

- Previous experience in Merchandising, ideally in consumer goods, technology, non fashion or a fashion related sector
- A relevant degree (or equivalent), e.g., Marketing, Merchandising, Retail or Business
- Knowledge of merchandise planning systems such as SAP, Compass Planning or similar
- Experience of business objects
- Strong numerical, analytical skills, and communication skills
