Craft Baker Apprentice

**We produce and serve artisan breads, pastries, cakes, and savouries.**

Our range includes some classic and traditional bakes with some modern twists and some niche products. Owned by a family that is passionate about great food and produce. Run and developed by a team of dedicated Bakers and foodies. We strive to create and serve quality products that are made with the love and the attention they deserve.

**Where possible, our aim and ethos is to**:

- Handcraft.
- Use traditional & artisan techniques, methods and recipes.
- Make from scratch.
- Use organic.
- Avoid additives and improvers

**What we are looking for**

We need a person who can get to us in East Wittering, West Sussex or who lives locally as the hours may be anti social.

Ideally a person to work from 3am to 11am 5 days a week with an experienced an highly competent baker.

**Job Roles**
- storing delivered products
- cleaning utensils, machinery and equipment
- Weighing ingredients, scaling, making doughs, cakes and pastries with supervision
- retail sales and customer interface

**Training to be provided**

Level 2 Baker apprenticeship standard, which includes:

- Level 1/2 Functional Skills in maths and English (if required)
- End-Point Assessment (EPA)

Training will be work based within the employers setting across all areas of Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours as required by a Craft Baker which will include the following areas:

- Preparation of bakery products including Bread, Dough, Cakes & Pastry products
- Stock control
- Using recording documentation
- Adherence to legislation (food safety, Health & Safety, Allergens etc.)
- Teamwork
- Using resources & equipment safely and correctly

Apprentices and employers have access to an online portfolio system which manages the agreed training plan and ensures progression and achievement of the set milestones through the programme. This will also act as the bank for the theory-based training.

Level 2 Craft Baker

The starting wage will be the national apprenticeship wage, after the induction process if the individal is displaying comptenece a higher wage will be considered.

**Salary**: From £4.81 per hour
