Sortation Operative

**Job Title - Sortation Operative & Relief Night Trunk Driver.**

This is a varied role to help cover our trunking network and sortation team, you will be part of our sortation team cross docking orders through the site along with covering any holidays and sickness delivering to one of our 12 out bases as instructed by our sortation supervisor. Driving a Long Wheel Base Sprinter Van or 7.5 Tonne vehicle if the relevant licence is held.

**Work activities & Responsibilities**

**Your duties include**:

- Assist with the sortation process as and when required
- Undertake a daily inspection of vehicle
- Ensure that the vehicle is kept in a clean and tidy condition in line with departmental requirements.
- The safe delivery and collection of goods to and from our depots
- To correctly use scanners to accurately scan consignments on an ad-hoc basis as and when directed by site management.
- Ensure the safe use of pallet trucks when loading a vehicle as per the safe operating manual located on site
- Ensure effective communication with both internal and external customers, escalating any queries to site management in a timely manner.
- Ensure strict adherence to regulations and the safe use of the national road network in line with the road transport laws and regulations
- Ensure strict adherence to both on-site and off-site Health and Safety Regulations at all times, reporting any breaches to site management immediately
- Any other reasonable duties that site management may request as required and at short notice in line with business requirements

You should have excellent geographical knowledge & ideally you would have some knowledge of GDP (Good Distribution Practices) & MHRA Guidelines along with vehicle safety.

- Ability to be flexible on start/finish times at short notice.
- Good self-motivational & organisational skills.
- Ability to work on your own or as part of a team.
- Ability to drive 7.5Tonne with relevant license desirable.

**Salary: From £27,495.00 per year**
