**Newark and Sherwood CVS’s** role is to help support and develop robust, sustainable, thriving and empowered communities across the district. We provide a range of core services, direct support to individuals, encouraging local voluntary activity and delivering community-based projects and services.
An exciting opportunity has arisen to support and expand the work of our volunteer centre.
Specifically, this role is expected to:
Volunteering External:
- Recruit and place potential volunteers with a wide variety of voluntary and statutory organisations throughout Newark and Sherwood district & Gedling Borough Council
- Advise on volunteering issues and good practice, to volunteer involving organisations
- Actively promote volunteering
Volunteering Internal:
- To support the recruitment, training and retention of new & existing volunteer drivers to deliver our existing Door 2 Door Transport service
- To support the recruitment, training and retention of new Befriending volunteers
- To support N&SCVS staff with all matters relating to volunteers/volunteering
We are looking for someone who understands the voluntary/community sector, is passionate about community development and the role of Volunteers; has an in depth understanding of the goals and challenges facing the sector and is motivated by the idea of achieving social goals.
You will:
- Be community focused
- Have a proven track record of working with volunteers
- Have knowledge and understanding of volunteer management and the current funding landscape
- Be experienced in delivering training/workshops
- Be confident about ‘working on the ground’
**Job Types**: Temporary contract, Full-time
Contract length: 12 months
**Salary**: £28,000.00 per year
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday

- Edwinstowe: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
