Works within the Procurement and Logistics Department that supports QE Facilities and Gateshead Health NHS Foundation Trust.
- Assist in the purchase of goods and services for the company in a cost-effective and efficient manner
- Undertake general customer service duties. Resolving queries and discrepancies, to ensure goods and services are received in a timely manner and invoices cleared for payment.
- Order processing and customer service activity relating to a discrete group of requisitioning departments.
- Running mini competitions and bench marking exercises on smaller value products to ensure very best value for money is achieved.
- Identify savings opportunities based on spend patterns and frequencies.
- Engage with stakeholders on requirements to ensure correct product selection and processes are followed.
- Support staff with usage of the purchasing system and any additional training
- Ensure that requisition turnaround lead times are adhered to.
- Ensure that invoice queries relating to orders placed are resolved satisfactorily within set target time.
- Ensure effective communications with requisitioning departments.
- Ensure that procurement process are compliant with the Governance policies and thresholds.

QE Facilities (QEF) is a wholly owned subsidiary company of Gateshead Health NHS Foundation Trust (GHNT), based in the North East of England.

We provide a range of non
- clinical services to GHNT and other NHS organisations. Our services include: estates, facilities services, procurement, medical engineering and devices, endoscopy decontamination and sterile services, transport, out-patient pharmacy, and prevention & management of violence & aggression training (PMVA).

In addition we provide consultancy services, advising clients on all aspects of establishing a subsidiary company within an NHS body to the provision of VAT compliance advice.

QE Facilities work to their own Terms and Conditions and these are not the same as Gateshead Health NHS Foundation Trust Terms and Conditions. This is not an Agenda for Change Pay Rate.
- Responsible for the purchase of goods and services required in the most efficient and cost-effective manner possible. Analyses and makes judgements on purchasing options on routine low value orders to obtain best value
- Plans own workload to ensure order requests and other tasks (some of which are on-going) are processed within agreed targets, making judgements on priorities and when to refer to managers. Works to daily and weekly timetables. Assists senior staff as and when required.
- Provides advice or demonstrates own activities or workplace routines to new or less experienced employees in own department
- The post holder will follow detailed departmental policies and operational procedures.
