Artisan Bread Baker

We are a small family-run bakery in the Dartmoor town of Ashburton. Our focus is on sourdough and traditional yeasted bread, buns and cakes - with a dedication to quality ingredients. The work environment is warm and friendly and we really care for the welfare of our staff. We are constantly evolving and looking for new ways of making the way we work more efficient, and with a small team everyone’s voice is important. We are looking for a bread baker who is interested in making sourdough and yeasted bread, but also open to experimenting and learning with us. As part of the South West Grain Network we are passionate about organic and regenerative farming systems and healthy food for our customers.

Pay is dependent on experence, from £12.50 per hour.

The role will include:

- Preparing bread and buns from our various ranges
- Weighing out, mixing, shaping and baking
- Ensure all products are made to a high standard
- Monitor production in a consistent and professional manner
- Manage multiple batches simultaneously
- Maintain cleanliness of your work area including utensils and equipment
- Start very early in the morning 3 days a fortnight
- Work one Saturday every fortnight
- Bring new ideas and workflows and help us evolve our recipes
- Must have a driving licence and vehicle for itinerary collection
