**Position Summary**:
As a PTS Trackman/woman, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and repairing railway tracks to ensure the safe and smooth operation of trains. You will work as part of a team under the supervision of a track maintenance supervisor, contributing to the upkeep and improvement of the railway infrastructure.

**Responsibilities**:

- Perform routine inspections of railway tracks to identify defects, damages, and potential hazards.
- Carry out track maintenance and repair work following safety guidelines and industry standards.
- Install, replace, and repair rail tracks, sleepers, and related components as needed.
- Operate specialized track maintenance equipment and tools safely and efficiently.
- Collaborate with other team members to complete scheduled maintenance tasks and respond to emergency repairs.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to minimize risks and ensure a safe working environment.

**Skills/Abilities**:

- Personal Track Safety (PTS) Certification: A skilled trackman/woman must possess a valid PTS certification, which demonstrates their understanding of safety protocols and procedures specific to working on railway tracks.
- Track Inspection Skills: The ability to conduct thorough inspections of railway tracks to identify defects, damages, and potential hazards is crucial. Skilled trackmen have an eye for detail and can recognize signs of wear and tear that may require maintenance or repair.
- Maintenance and Repair Techniques: Skilled trackmen/women are proficient in various maintenance and repair techniques for railway tracks, including installing, replacing, and repairing rails, sleepers, and related components. They understand industry standards and best practices for maintaining track integrity and safety.
- Equipment Operation: Skilled trackmen/women are proficient in operating specialized track maintenance equipment and tools, such as tamping machines, ballast regulators, and track jacks. They understand how to use these tools safely and efficiently to perform maintenance tasks.
- Teamwork and Collaboration: Track maintenance often requires teamwork and collaboration with other trackmen/women and railway personnel. Skilled trackmen/women can effectively communicate and coordinate with team members to complete tasks safely and efficiently.

- Valid PTS

**Job Type**: Temporary contract
Contract length: 15 days

**Salary**: From £14.00 per hour
