Hours per week: 37.5 hours per week, working 5 days over 7

Contract Type: Permanent

Annual Leave: 25 days, increasing to 30 with length of service

Probationary Period: 6 Months

MUST HAVE : Food Safety Level 3, HACCP Level 2 and Equivalent to GCSE Maths Grade C or above as well as previous experience of working successfully in a supervisory management role within a busy environment

Main Purpose of the Role:
The Catering Supervisor is responsible for the management of one of our catering outlets with flexibility to cover other events and functions throughout the campus.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Responsible for the supervision of the catering service across various outlets.

2. Lead and direct the team to ensure the smooth running of the catering service during opening hours.

3. Implement and maintain Hygiene, Health and Safety rules and regulations.

4. Maintain agreed standards of operation.

5. Ensure that all areas are merchandised correctly.

6. Maintain Hartpury’s standards of security and quality.

7. Take or recommend appropriate action to ensure customer satisfaction. Suggest improvements that will help to promote and increase business opportunities.

8. Plan staff shifts and rotas with the support of the Catering Manager. Organise rostering of staff within the various locations.

9. Ensure all catering staff are fully aware of their duties and responsibilities.

10. Assist in the organisation, motivation and training of catering staff.

11. Ensure the catering areas are clean, well maintained and safe for use. All equipment should be available and hygienic, reporting any faults to the Catering Manager.

12. Ensure that the procedures for the tills, cash handling and card processing is adhered to by all the catering staff.

13. Be aware of daily transaction totals and compare them to budget targets.

14. Advise the Catering Manager of any financial variances, including daily receipts and budget targets.

15. Undertake any other reasonable duties from time to time requested by the Catering Manager or Hartupry Management.
