Digital PR Executive

**Overview of role**

As Digital PR Executive you will play a key role in driving results for a range of EssenceMediacom clients through considered and effective outreach to online media.

Creative collaboration is key to this role, as you will work closely with other team members at every stage of delivering an effective digital PR strategy: ideation, research, copywriting and production, outreach and reporting on coverage.

You should be driven and take a proactive approach to your work, identifying relevant opportunities for clients and ways to maximise results.

You should also be organised and able to meet deadlines while working across different pieces of activity and clients at once.

You should enjoy working in a small team but also be open to wider opportunities within SEO and other departments, such as Planning and other digital channels.

You will sit within the SEO team, reporting to the Digital PR Manager.

**Measures of success**

**In three months, you would have**:

- Established an effective approach to outreach and be delivering coverage and links for clients
- Become equipped with relevant industry tools, such as BuzzSumo, BuzzStream, Majestic, Roxhill, and SEO monitor
- Developed an understanding of different types of links acquired through outreach and their associated SEO-relevant metrics
- Drafted press assets for a range of clients

**In six months, you would have**:

- Started taking an active role in client comms, attending calls and reporting on results
- Continued to earn links and coverage for clients, including through ‘newsjacking’ tactics and reactive PR
- Established tailored and measurable KPIs with your line manager to support your performance and progression
- Contributed to digital PR production for a range of clients

**In 12 months, you would have**:

- Taken a leading role on a small account, overseeing the day-to-day and being a main point of contact to both the client and internal planning team
- Developed your broader understanding of SEO

**Responsibilities of the role**
- **_
Outreach: _**_earn coverage and links for clients through _targeted _and consider_ate outreach_. _Also focus on building_ relationships_ with online media and journalists on behalf of clients. This role will require you to be creative with outreach and able to adapt your strategy in effective ways to maximise results_
- **_Coverage monitoring and _**_tracking: _**_you will be responsible for monitoring for coverage and inputting this coverage into relevant client link trackers. This will require you to use tools such as _Moz_ and Majestic to report on relevant link metrics._
- **_
Always-on ideation and media monitoring_**_: _**_this role will require you to pay close attention to the media cycle, social media trends, and breaking stories, using this to find new coverage opportunities for clients and inform ideation sessions._
- **_
Digital PR p_**_roduction_**_: _**_you will be expected to contribute to the production of digital PR campaigns / ideas. This will primarily involve copywriting press releases, conducting research and data analysis, and sourcing third-party experts / partners for amplifications._

**What you will need**
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks based on client demands
- An understanding of what digital PR is and the role it plays in supporting both SEO and brand objectives
- An interest in the media and an eye for finding newsworthy angles
- A proactive attitude towards work, with an enthusiasm to try new tasks, continue to build your knowledge of digital PR/SEO, and develop your role
- Confidence writing press assets, such as press releases and expert comments
- Proficiency using Excel / Google sheets for data inputting
- To be investigative and flexible in order to align with different clients, sectors, and KPIs
- An interest in and openness to training and joining webinars to expand knowledge of sector
- An understanding of industry tools such as Buzzstream, Roxhill and Ahrefs is preferred but not essential
- Experience working in a fast-paced digital / PR agency environment is preferred but not essential
