Cardiology Support Worker

Contribute towards the provision of a professional high quality diagnostic and imaging service supporting a multi-disciplinary team. Provide assistance to both staff and patients within the investigations unit ensuring a high standard of patient care.
Contribute towards and maintain a high standard of support service for all staff groups working within the cardiac investigations unit.
Assist Echocardiographers to provide a streamlined efficient service by preparing patients for their echo exam in areas such as; getting changed, height, weight and Blood pressure checks, ECG as required.
Practice a responsible attitude towards patients and visitors to ensure they are comfortable and given the support and information they need.
Practice a meticulous approach to documentation and patient identification ensuring patient confidentiality at all times. Maintain competence using ICE, CRIS and TRAK IT systems.
Preparation of rooms and equipment. Following department procedures for routine cleaning and maintenance.
Assisting Physiologists/Cardiographers during examinations. Escort, assist and chaperone patients. Prepare sterile/non sterile trolleys.
Liaise with porters and referring wards and departments re appointments and patient preparation. Monitor waiting areas.
Support the whole multi-disciplinary team to provide a safe and positive patient experience
Basic stock control. Coordinate requirements to ensure smooth running such as linen and waste disposal.
Effective communication in various forms such as phone, in person and via electronic systems

Ensure all equipment is used intelligently, reporting faults to senior member of staff. Reporting of incidents involving patients, staff and equipment to senior staff and via InPhase reporting system.
Basic stock control.
Coordinate requirements to ensure smooth running such as linen and waste disposal.
Effective communication in various forms such as phone, in person and via electronic systems
Demonstrate good analytical skills with the ability to make judgements on prioritising tasks and patient care.
