Bristol Hospital is rated ‘Good’ by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) the Grade II listed hospital building is set in extensive grounds in the suburb Stapleton, just off the M32 and less than three miles from the centre of Bristol with free parking onsite.

There are 77 beds spread over seven wards offering a diverse range of services including Psychiatric Intensive Care (PICU), eating disorders, acute and rehab and recovery. This offers opportunities to gain experience of working in a number of different services.

The hospital is overseen by an approachable and dynamic senior management team and has excellent links with local universities, which provides plenty of opportunities to gain experience of dealing with complex cases.

We are looking for Healthcare Assistants to work on our long term mental health ward. The ward mostly cares for long term service users with degenerative disorders such as early on-set dementia, Huntingdon’s and other types of brain injury. Due to the nature of the service users, you will ideally have experience in giving personal care however full training will be provided.

To be successful as a Healthcare Worker, you will need:

- Good communication skills
- Ability to work flexibility
- Basic Literacy skills
- Common sense approach to problem solving.
- Basic numeracy skills
- Motivation and initiative
- Some appreciation of Mental Health problems.

**Qualifications**:

- Education to GCSE Standard
- NVQ or equivalent would be an advantage.
