Phlebotomist

**About the Role**:
Crocus Medical Practice is looking to welcome an experienced and qualified phlebotomist into our busy practice, on a part time basis for 20-25 hours per week, working under the direction of the lead nurse and as part of the practice multi-disciplinary team.

You will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks to include:

- Obtaining patient consent for the collection of a blood sample.
- Performing venepuncture in accordance with practice protocols.
- Maintaining accurate patient records on SystmOne.
- Correct labelling, packaging, and storing of samples.
- Effective use of the specimen log, resolving any discrepancies.
- Ensuring samples are sent to the laboratory in a timely manner.
- Working collaboratively with the nursing team, seeking guidance when necessary for patient related matters.

You will have the following skills and qualifications:

- Relevant qualification and clinical knowledge and skills in venepuncture;
- Ideally have experience of working in a healthcare setting, ideally within primary care;
- Ability to record accurate clinical notes;
- Consistently confidential, compassionate and respectful approach, placing a high value on the dignity of patients, relatives, carers and colleagues;
- Ability to communicate effectively, and to understand the needs of the patient;
- Strength in problem-solving, with the ability to process information accurately and effectively, interpreting data as required;
- Flexibility and an adaptable approach; Commitment to ongoing professional development.**About Us**:
We are a friendly and supportive practice. Our team includes 5 GP partners, 2 sessional GPs, nurse practitioners, and paramedics, supported by an excellent nursing and administration team.
