**Job Details**

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Suffolk County Council (SCC) Assets and Investment Team as our Corporate Buildings Coordinator, working from Endeavour House, Ipswich.

We are looking for someone who will embrace and lead to deliver cost effective and flexible FM solutions across the Councils corporate estate, with a focus on customers’ needs and the aspirations of the Council.

**Your role and responsibilities**

You will play a lead role:

- supporting flexible working across the Council’s corporate estate and partner organisations to ensure best practice in building operations
- working closely with Vertas, the Council’s wholly owned FM service provider, to set and monitor budgets, service standards and key performance across the corporate estate, ensuring value for money, health and safety and best practice is maintained within the portfolio
- as the Premises Responsible Person (PRP) for the Council’s corporate buildings, overseeing the day-to-day management of these to include health and safety, security and business continuity and report to the Corporate Estate & FM Client Manager.

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

- working with Vertas to agree the FM services required across the Council’s corporate buildings (FM services include cleaning, custodial/caretaking, security, catering, grounds maintenance, fleet etc.)
- negotiating, setting and monitoring the cost of the FM services Vertas provide the Council, ensuring value for money is maintained
- working with/managing Vertas to ensure that:

- Contractors working in the Council’s corporate buildings are managed.
- Statutory fire evacuations completed.
- Staff building inductions are completed as required across all corporate buildings.
- acting as corporate buildings contact for Councillors, Chief Executive, Senior Leadership Team (SLT), staff and partner organisations
- representing Corporate Property at Joint FM meetings with partner organisations such as East Suffolk Council, West Suffolk Council and the Police.

**You will need**
- a recognised health and safety qualification e.g., NEBOSH general Certificate, or equivalent experience
- a professional qualification or appropriate further qualification in project and/or programme management, or equivalent knowledge and experience.

**The team**
- the Council’s Corporate Property function is part of the Assets and Investment team, within the Corporate Services Directorate. The team is professional, supportive and welcoming. It is often centrally involved with many of the council’s key initiatives, and consequently it is a rewarding and challenging environment.
