Buyer/expeditor

Opus Vitae are actively recruiting for a **Buyer Expeditor** for our client based within the **Ludlow** area.

**Experience we're looking for...**
- Experience of working as an expeditor or buyer within a Purchasing function.
- Excellent IT skills particularly Excel.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- CIPS qualification or working to achieve CIPS would be beneficial.
- Work proactively to prevent problems.
- Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems.
- Ability to work well on own initiative and as part of a team.
- Analytical skills and problem solving.
- Using data both current and historical to plan raw material demand.

**Your daily job duties will include...**
- Issue Purchase Orders.
- Using the MRP system & processing messages for bought out product.
- Operating the Supplier Portal & processing supplier responses.
- Order Book Reconciliation.
- Expediting open Purchase Order acknowledgements to ensure on time delivery.
- Resolving invoice queries.
- Placement of Purchase Orders for non-BOM / consumables / goods and services.
- Supplier Relationship management.
- Contributing to achieving the set targets aligned with business goals.
- Ensuring the products are delivered on time.
- Benchmarking costs to ensure sourcing at competitive rates.
- Reviewing inventory levels.
- Manage the daily conversions of requisitions to purchase orders.
- Attendance meetings and provide information relative to the introduction of new products.
- Report on non-availability for spare sales and or production shortages.
- Involvement in process to manage returns to suppliers.
- Ensuring engineering changes are addressed with supplier where required.
- Ongoing development of the purchasing systems and ordering process.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £25,000.00-£28,000.00 per year

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- No weekends

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Ludlow, Shropshire: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- CIPS: 1 year (preferred)
- ERP/MRP: 1 year (preferred)
