- Job description- We’re looking for a motivated individual to join our Lincolnshire and Northamptonshire Area as a Fisheries Officer. This opportunity rarely becomes available and will suit an individual with experience in fisheries and environment management. You’ll help us to protect and enhance our fisheries habitats and stocks for current and future generations. The job is split between office-based work and being out in the field, working out and about across the catchments all year round.

This may involve difficult conversations at times with customers both over the phone and face to face. Your role will be key to assist fisheries at times working alone to provide advice and guidance and collect evidence to support regulatory and compliance activities.
You'll also support other Fisheries Officers across the Area when required. You need to be flexible, able to plan, adapt and respond where pressures demand. Excellent administration skills are necessary, including keeping accurate records, organising, and managing your workload and inputting/retrieving data.
- The team- You’ll join a dedicated Area Fisheries Team, specialising in fisheries work across Lincolnshire and Northamptonshire. To achieve our aims, we work closely with regulatory and specialist technical teams across the Area and with enforcement, fisheries, and colleagues in other Areas and Nationally. We also routinely work with external organisations.
- Experience/skills required- You will possess:

A keen interest in, and knowledge of, fisheries, angling, regulation & enforcement
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and organisational skills.
Confidence dealing with hostile situations and ability to manage your own health and safety
An ability to complete tasks accurately working individually or as part of a team.
A full UK driving licence and the ability to swim.
Contact and additional information-
Responding to incidents is a central part of what we do. You will be required to have an incident role and make yourself available to respond to incidents or provide business continuity support during an incident. This may attract an additional payment and full training and alternative working arrangements will be available to support you with your incident role.
