**Why this role is important for CPI’s work**:
CPI are looking to appoint a Procurement Lead to actively contribute to the realisation of CPI’s Procurement Strategy by providing effective, accurate and timely information and high-quality support to designated technology areas to support the delivery of ongoing business objectives and targets.
The Procurement Lead will act as a trusted point of contact for the relevant technology area, using their public procurement expertise and problem-solving skills to lead, advise and constructively challenge procurement activity to deliver timely procurement of goods and services whilst ensuring best value for money.
The Procurement Lead will proactively build and manage effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, providing high quality Procurement Advice to support and drive compliant decision-making, whilst ensuring compliance to funding and budgetary requirements.

- To maintain consistent and document compliance with all relevant Safety, Health and Environmental (SHE), Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), Data Integrity (DI), quality and best practice requirements.
- To work with the senior management of the technology areas to create a long term procurement plan, in accordance with CPI strategy.
- To provide technical and line supervision to a procurement team (up to 5 direct reports).
- To implement effective procurement frameworks & conduct procurement exercises end to end.
- To manage compliance with statutory, regulatory, and good practice procurement guidelines.
- To collaborate with internal clients to establish procurement needs at an appropriate stage of project lifecycles and deliver effective procurement processes to deliver to time, quality and budget.
- To work in partnership with internal clients to ensure that the most appropriate and effective procurement routes are identified to deliver high quality most economically required outcomes.
- To manage supply chain effectively including contract management and support to internal clients.
**The person we are seeking**:
Essential:
- CIPS Qualified or Part Qualified
- Demonstrates experience of leading procurement programs below and above PCR thresholds
- Demonstrates evidence of conducting end to end tender processes
It would be great if you also had:
- Comprehensive understanding of Public Contract Regulations or equivalent
- Previous experience of leading a procurement team
- A completed Management Qualification
