**Project Director - Elvaston Castle & Gardens Project**
**£650/Day + Rate Negotiable DOE**
**12-Month Contract**
**Location: Derbyshire**
The Project Director will lead the development and delivery of a new future for Elvaston Castle and Gardens. This will include:

- Leadership of the project to provide confidence that the right solution is being delivered
- The development of a sustainable commercial model for Elvaston Castle and Gardens which meets both heritage and financial objectives
- The delivery of an appropriate physical 'masterplan'
- Securing and working with the right partners (including Trustees and commercial operators) to deliver the right commercial model
**Main Responsibilities**:

- To lead the development and delivery of this important and high profile project, taking clear accountability for its progress
- To ensure that the optimal solution for Elvaston Castle and Gardens is found, based on the Outline Business Case in place
- To manage the resources dedicated to the project, drawing in additional resources as required - and accounting for these within the budgets available and delegated approvals made
- To give stakeholders - including Cabinet Members - the confidence that the project is being delivered in a way which meets multiple objectives and drawing them in appropriately to help create better solutions
- To ensure that the project reports in a timely, accurate way - giving Council stakeholders confidence that the project is being gripped tightly and sound investment decisions are being made
**Essential Experience**:

- Creating and delivering solutions to similar challenges in the heritage/leisure sector.
- Experience working with master developers of land, property and real estate assets, informing economic growth and new forms of income.
- Multi agency and partnership working in a comparable multi-functional organisation.
- Experience and understanding of commercial financial modelling and its effective risk management.
- Developing and delivering complex capital programmes and projects, in multi-partnership arrangements.
- Operating at Boardroom level.
- Experience of delivering transformational and cultural change, and politically sensitive programmes within a large complex organisation.
